HUMOR
Julien Tremblay

His six appearances at the 2015 Just for Laughs Festival galas earned him a spontaneous ovation each time! He was awarded the Victor Révélation prize. No doubt, Julien Tremblay is a comedian to watch. Just for Laughs Spectacles presents its first one-man show on November 15 and 16, 2016 at Théâtre St-Denis 1.

"  You didn't know him two weeks ago.  There you have a sample and tomorrow,   you're going to get everything the office with him »  - Presentation of Julien Tremblay by François Bellefeuille during the Just for Laughs gala

He handles the guitar admirably. His humor is echoed as soon as he sets foot on a stage. He knows how to improvise, animate and play comedy. Julien Tremblay is a multidisciplinary artist who has been refining his art for several years and is certainly ready for a first solo show.

“ Julien Tremblay had the biggest and most spontaneous ovation of the evening….A hilarious number! ” - Éric Clément, La Presse

He says it straight away, "I'm a comedian by profession and a musician at heart" with a particularly hilarious look. The table is set to discover his famous character on the guitar who hits the mark every time. Julien Tremblay has a sense of rhythm coupled with solid experience. A winning formula that the public will finally be able to discover on stage in 2016 throughout Quebec.

« Or, it was Julien Tremblay, a “rookie” with 20 years of experience, who won over the crowd with his sense of timing in a damn good number! » - Sorstu.ca

Sam Breton

There are so many ways we could try to describe the Sam Breton show, but what's the point? Fascinating personality with a quickdraw of gags that break in your face, this storyteller has this je-ne-sais-quoi that will transport you je-ne-sais-quoi. As he would say so well : «  Attach your spleen, I'll take care of the rest_cc781905-debb1-95 136bad5cf58d_”. In short, Sam Breton is not a human being who reads, but rather who lives. Good show!

We find Désherbage, the record and the show, rightly at the top of the year-end charts.  Powerful and sensitive writing, brilliant folk rock music with seventies accents, intelligence, charisma, that defines our man and his universe. And which arouses this great pleasure, this respect shared by the public and the artist.  In everyone's opinion, one of the best authors of his generation, the new voice of folk in Quebec.

Peter Macleod

Free

Freedom transpires in his life, on stage and in his own laughter. But, does freedom have its limits?  Does it have a price?  Does free choice really exist? In short, if freedom is the possibility of being able to act according to one's own will, Peter MacLeod has his own will to achieve it! With his new show, Libre, the popular humorist exposes his vision of freedom, relevant and always hilarious. Free-thinking, there are no taboos for Peter. He will therefore twist all the subjects, lingering in passing on sex, money and the truth… In short, everything that makes the world go round today! Essential in humor, as touching as it is hard-hitting, it has lost none of its ardor and its legendary charm. Peter can't wait to find his audience to laugh with him in complete freedom!

David Portelance

shelter from the wind

Impregnated with his inner landscapes, David Portelance goes back on stage to welcome the public under his jail roof. With a creak of stretching springs, he opens the door to his shack deep in the woods. An armchair, a table and four chairs, instruments lying around… Friends arrive, glasses are filled. Accompanied in images by the works of visual artist Andrée-Anne Laberge and photographer Olivier Samson Arcand, sometimes in projection, sometimes in augmented reality, David invites us into his "home", a small place of emotions and creation, the time of a trip, an evening, sheltered from the wind.

Tramp of Century

Tribute to Supertramp

In 1979, the album Breakfast in America is the most popular album on the planet, with more than 20 million copies sold. Sales in Canada are of course there with nearly a million copies sold, including more than 400 000 in Quebec. The same year, Supertramp organizes a huge tour in Europe and North America. It was during this tour that the album " Live in Paris " was recorded. It was the same year that Montreal welcomed the British group to Parc Jarry for two grandiose shows, with Jean-Luc Ponty in the first part, which still mark the imagination of the fans who had the pleasure of attending them.

Tramp of the Century wants its fans to relive this period when, both on record and on stage, the members of Supertramp were at their peak. In an always assumed concern to interpret this magnificent music with authenticity, passion and attention to detail, Tramp of the Century invites you to a brand new show paying tribute to these nights under the stars, The Breakfast In America tour of 1979.

Mathieu Cyr

Bored by routine and irritated by conventions, Mathieu Cyr has always had the impression of being out of step. homeschooling her children and living together with another family. When nothing stimulating enough happens, he invents a challenge – or several at the same time.  With his initiatives and bizarre ideas, he does not need to invent anecdotes; the funny writes all by itself in his life!  The missing link is the otherwise felt, the otherwise said and the otherwise done, in the energetic and assumed tone specific to Matthew Cyr.
